Ladies Section Enjoy Their Opening Day
The Ladies Section of the Club enjoyed the Club Opening on Saturday 14th April. On Tuesday 17th April they celebrated the start of the season with their first game in sunshine although chilly on the green.
The day was enjoyed by 55 members and a number of guests making a company of about 80.
We were delighted to welcome Mrs Dorothy Freeburn Vice President of Bowls Scotland Ladies and our District Secretary, Mrs Sheila McLaren Secretary of the West of Scotland Women’s Bowling Association, Mrs Maureen Kennedy District Secretary of Lanarkshire Women’s Bowling Association and Mrs Cathie Bennett from South Lanarkshire Council Hamilton Championships.
Other guests included Club President Mr Ron Marshall, representatives from the Gents, Senior Gents and Tennis Sections of our own club along with local bowling clubs and our lady Presidents family.
Ladies President Mrs Lilian Johnston welcomed the company and the players enjoyed 8 ends of bowls whilst the non playing guests enjoyed watching with drinks and nibbles. After the game a very enjoyable meal was served by Danny Gibb the caterer, followed by speeches from the guests and Mrs Jean Gardner (Strathclyde B.C.) on behalf of the kindred clubs.

Ladies Vice President Evelyn Rhind gave the vote of thanks wishing everyone a safe journey home.
Uddingston Tennis Family Fun Open Day
Uddingston Tennis club are having our annual Family Fun/ Opening day this Saturday!
- Between 11-1pm coaching staff will be on hand to organise fun games and activities for all the kids and any willing older relatives.
- From 1 O’clock onwards there will be a doubles tournament for adult members… prizes to be finalised!
At Uddingston we strive to create an open and friendly atmosphere in which to experience tennis so whether you’re a budding Andy Murray or more of a Fred Perry Vintage you will be very welcome!
Opening Day 2012 – Diablo Performs
This years entertainment act for opening day are the trio Diablo who have played at the club before and are now back by popular demand. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend opening day on Saturday 14th April. There will be a raffle running throughout the day with prizes being drawn at the opening day dance.
